The diocese, established in 2001, serves a population of 427,000 of which approximately 20% are Christian; of these about 10,000 are Anglican. The main objective of the diocese is to increase the number of Christians by 10% by the year 2008.

The diocese has 26 parishes in 6 deaneries.

The Development Department is involved in social services, agricultural activities, an AIDS programme and a recruitment awareness programme. The social services programme, DAHI/KOLO ADP operates in four villages and involves the construction of rain water harvesting tanks.
