Our mission is the
provision of vocational skills which aim at poverty eradication to
girls/women in order to meet the labour market needs of both formal and
informal sectors.
The Anglican Church of
Tanzania (ACT) VTC is a Vocational Training Centre which
is located in Dodoma Municipality, Lindi Avenue. The Centre is under
the Mothers Union (UMAKI) of the Anglican Church of Tanzania.
UMAKI identified the need to
establish such an institution that will translate into action the
Union's objective of raising the socio-economic status of girls (as
future mothers) by giving them quality training in key vocational
skills.
Graduation Ceremony
The VTC held their 2006 Graduation Ceremony held at Art bishop Lodge in
Dodoma Municipal More than fifty women are awarded the certificate on this
Ceremony. Hamisa Selemani was awarded a sewing machine she was "best in
class" for 2006. The sewing machine was awarded by Work Aid UK.
Our plans include the building of a hostel to enable more girls,
especially those from rural areas and other regions to enroll in our
courses, building of more classrooms and an administration block,
introduction of advanced stages to existing courses and new courses. So
that to empower women by allowing them to have self employment which
will increase the life living standard.
