Who We are
The Anglican Church of Tanzania’s Development Services Department (DSD) was established to promote holistic development across the province with the view to facilitate dioceses in pursuing developmental initiatives. Currently, the DSD is specifically working with our dioceses and churches in the areas of:
  • Church and Community Mobilization Process (CCMP).
  • Research in conflict transformation with the view to find a biblically-driven solutions
  • Water for peace initiative.
The department is deeply rooted in biblical values and principles of holistic mission which integrates spiritual, social, economic and environmental issues; while at the same time, responding to poverty, vulnerability and injustice across Tanzania.

Promoting holistic mission, faith-rooted entrepreneurship and community-led development.

We work alongside dioceses, parishes, and communities to:
  • Strengthen household resilience
  • Empower communities
  • Promote sustainable livelihoods
  • Improve health, dignity, and social wellbeing
  • Advance stewardship, peace and advocacy.

    Church and Community Mobilization (CCMP) Our core community engagement process, through which we: Help communities identify their own needs and local resources, Strengthen relationships within families, parishes, and communities, Empowering communities to take ownership of development, sustainability in the areas of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Entrepreneurship and financial literacy and Resource mobilization and gender equality.
